Hoya sigillatis 'Silver Moon'

Hoya sigillatis is a favourite among collectors for its small, neat leaves and fine vines, and the silver forms are the most sought after. 'Silver Moon' has leaves that are almost completely washed in silver with darker green flecks, giving it a moonlit look. In strong light the leaves can blush pink-red, which makes the silver even more striking. It stays relatively compact, so it suits shelves, small hanging pots and plant cabinets.

Care

• Light: bright, indirect light; more light brings out stronger pink and cream tones
• Water: small leaves dry out faster — water when the top of the mix is dry
• Mix: fine but airy: bark, perlite and a little sphagnum
• Humidity: 50%+ keeps new leaves soft and fully opened

After unboxing

Pot up in a slightly moist, airy mix and keep the plant in bright shade with high humidity for 1–2 weeks while new roots form.
